ORRAE

Hi, i'm David, the ceramist behind ORRAE.

My ambition: to design ceramic light fixtures where each piece fits together perfectly, in a balance between form, material and light.

I want every person who acquires an ORRAE creation to possess much more than an object: a piece born from artisanal know-how, carrying a human story and the gesture of the hand.

What would we do without light?
Elementary, omnipresent, and yet so discreet. It sets the rhythm of our lives without us really noticing it.

So why not offer it a support designed to reveal it, enhance it and restore it to its essential place.

As  pastry chef and Compagnon du Devoir of the Tour de France, I have learned and traveled throughout the world in search of human encounters and know-how.

Creative by nature and always attracted by raw material, beauty and the art of transformation, I turned to ceramics as a new field of expression, guided by the earth and the search for harmony.

My career as a chef has taught me the love for travelling,  precision, and high standards. My work today extends the pastry chef's craft: a quest for beauty, precision, and emotion.

After having created the ephemeral for a long time, I now want to offer lasting pieces, objects of light designed to inhabit spaces and awaken the senses, as much as a pastry would.

Self-taught, I refined my vision through experience, until I found, at the Hidarinia studio, the ideal space to bring a new adventure to life: ORRAE.

Each piece is unique, and born of inspirations combining nature, design and contemporaneity.

ORRAE is a reflection of this path, a journey off the beaten track, illuminated by discovery and creativity.

David
